Spirit Of Righteousness

After Jesus had been resurrected and before His ascension to Heaven, He told the apostles that they would be receiving the Holy Spirit.

Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you." And with that he breathed on them and said, "Receive the Holy Spirit. -- John 20:21-22

To finish up my thoughts on wisdom and righteousness, I want to focus on the Holy Spirit's role in that process. Yesterday I quoted a verse that explained how wisdom comes from Heaven and I believe that the vehicle for the delivery of Heavenly wisdom is the Holy Spirit.

Now, whether the Spirit is a part of our very being and with us from birth I do not know. What I personally believe is that, whether the Spirit was already with us and engages us or if the Spirit comes to us later in life, it's the moment when we voice with our mouths AND believe in our hearts that Christ is Lord that opens us up to the wisdom that leads to righteousness. In other words, the Holy Spirit is the key for us to be the beings we're called to be after accepting Jesus.

By accepting Jesus and allowing God, through the Spirit, to work in and through us we gain wisdom and are set upon a path of righteousness.
