A Godly Woman

Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised. -- Proverbs 31:30

When you read the words "Godly woman", what does that mean to you? What are the characteristics of a women who fears the Lord? I talked yesterday about how it takes a great woman to make a good man, but how can you tell that a woman is great?

I think the secret isn't in their looks or on their words, but lies within their hearts. A great woman begins with a strong but caring heart, a heart that loves God first and foremost and then her husband next. She shows the versatility to be the rock of the family at times and the wisdom to take the back seat at others. Always willing to serve others, usually putting herself last.

A great woman has to be many things to many people, but most importantly she knows what it is that her man needs from her at any given point and offers it freely. While a man will do anything for his family, without the strong support of a Godly woman, I think most of us would just meander about life without really being fulfilled.

I thank God that He has put a special woman at my side for life, and that I'm surrounded by so many friends who are just as blessed to have a Godly woman backing them up as well. Ladies, I salute you for all that you do and for all that you mean to us!
