Queue the 007 theme song! Did you think about James Bond when you first read the title? How in the world could I tie the legendary secret agent into a blog post about faith? I'll be honest with you, I wouldn't have thought so either but I'm just writing what God gives me to write, so here goes...
I would imagine that there are a variety of things that can shake our faith. Things happen to us in life that really make no sense whatsoever and, when they do, they cause us to question God. And you know what, I think we should be honest about our questions instead of suppressing them for the sake of appearances. God can handle it!!! When you get yourself to a point where you can be honest about your questions, the shakiness disappears and you can deal with them...with the help of those who care about you.
That is where our legendary British secret agent comes in. James Bond has been in countless numbers of situations where death seemed certain, but maybe the most famous is when Goldfinger has a laser heading right up between Bond's legs. 007 is visibly shaken and has no idea how he is going to get out of this one. But at the last second, he manages to convince Goldfinger to turn off the laser.
Like Bond, it's OK to not know exactly how we're going to get out of whatever situation life throws our way next. It's OK to be shaken and to question. Now whether Bond had God guiding his words to save his life or not, we DO have God as our guide. Be encouraged! Remember, God is with you 100% of the time. Through prayer and discussion with those you trust, the answers will come.
